Product Details
Spanish Kaki Persimmon’s greatest feature is that you don't have to wait for it to become soft and ripe; it can be eaten while firm, with a crisp texture similar to an apple, and is completely free of the astringency found in typical persimmons. The flesh is plump and orange-red, with a sweetness that can reach about 17 degrees Brix. It is juicy and carries a faint honey and fruity aroma. Spanish persimmons are generally available from October to January or February of the following year, and we are currently in the peak season for them. It is a seasonal flavor you won't want to miss!
Texture: Crisp, sweet, and non-astringent; as it ripens, the area near the core develops a slightly soft and pectin-like consistency.
Features: Delicious whether firm or soft.
Recommended serving: Eat directly after washing, or pair with ham, cheese, or in salads.
Origin: Spain
Specifications: 2 pieces
PAF Tips
When firm and unripe, store at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Once it reaches your preferred softness, refrigerate and consume as soon as possible to avoid missing the fruit’s peak flavor. Once cut, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 24 hours.
