Chinese papayas are mainly produced in Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Yunnan in China, and belong to the Caricaceae family of fresh-eating papayas. Because the fruit of the small-variety papaya is smaller, the sugar content is more easily concentrated. When fully ripe, the flesh is orange-red or deep orange, with a soft, smooth, and delicate texture, carrying a fresh fruity aroma; some varieties even have a faint milky scent. The smaller fruit size is more suitable for single servings, small family portions, or for use in fruit platters, desserts, and salads.October is currently the peak season for papaya flavor; open-field grown papayas have sufficient sugar content and a rich fruity aroma, making it the perfect time to enjoy them.

PAF Tips:
If they are still green and firm upon arrival, you can leave them at room temperature for 1-3 days. Wait until the skin turns yellow, the area around the stem feels slightly soft when pressed, and a distinct fruity aroma can be smelled before eating. Once fully ripe, it is recommended to store them in the refrigerator and eat as soon as possible. It is normal to see white latex after cutting; simply rinse it off before eating.
