PAF Tip
To check if an avocado is ripe, it is best to use your hands. If the fruit is firm when it arrives, leave it in a cool, dry place at room temperature to ripen; it is usually ready to eat when it feels slightly firm with a gentle bounce when pressed lightly, without being overly soft. Once ripe, store the avocados in the refrigerator to extend their shelf life. If you do not finish the fruit immediately after cutting it, squeeze a little lemon juice over the flesh to help slow browning caused by oxidation.
